Well past time for this but good on em for doing it: Hanson, who retired from U.S. Army as a Special Forces weapons sergeant, said that after DADT is repealed, “you won’t hear about gays in the military anymore,” and that it’s only a “hurdle to get to the point” where new rules can implemented. “Why give ammunition to people who want to hate on the military? This takes ammunition out of the hands of people like Elena Kagan.”

A young trooper from the First Cavalry Division, Sergeant Doug Dellere, is in need of a few minutes of your time this weekend. Doug is a wonderful husband to Ronda and father to Spencer, Lydia and Izak. He has devoted his life to the US Army being deployed 5 times (Desert Storm, Bosnia, and finally three times to Iraq). He is very involved in Boy Scouts of America and his church. Doug has been diagnosed with leukemia and may need a marrow transplant. His doctors are now searching the National and Department of Defense Registries in hopes of finding a donor.

Some of the greyhounds on these pages—all put up for adoption by Hemopet of Garden Grove, California—have found new homes, while others are still looking.

People are watching the healthcare debate like sports. The minority leader is having to warn his constituents to behave like adults. Tea Party folks are hurling racial epithets at civil rights campaigners while Dems dawdle all day with the vote, now pushed into the wee hours of Sunday night. Why not do it in the daylight?

The 14-year-old son of a 1st Infantry Division soldier is suffering from an aggressive form of leukemia, and the family is asking all prospective bone marrow donors to complete a simple test at the Robertson Blood Center on Fort Hood to see if they may be a match.
